I am thrilled to share a recent project that was featured on DarlingMagazine.org! I want to say how much I admire this magazine, I am so honoured to be featured on their website. If you are not familiar with the publication, they are based out of Los Angeles, California and their mission is to showcase the art of being a woman. Darling Magazine challenges cultural "ideals" of beauty by representing the beauty in every type of woman, which resulted in the different personas for their content. (Such a cool concept!)
This particular feature was created for the "Hostess" persona. You may be wondering, who is the Hostess?
This persona focuses on the home and how to make it lovely. A woman's space should be a sanctuary, so here we'll cover unique DIY's, how to turn junk into treasure, paint, refurbish, and innovate. This persona also features original recipes along with tips on sewing, handwriting letters, and art. We'll focus on intentional entertaining, drawing ideas from different eras while integrating modern sensibilities. -Darling Magazine
Gigi, from the blog It's a Sparkly Life, created this custom gin and tonic recipe that was made for the woman who loves to entertain. After trying the cocktail, I can say that the unique flavours pair perfectly together by balancing sweet orange juice with the piney flavour of the rosemary and gin.
What I love most about these photographs is the vibrant use of colour and textural elements, you can almost taste how juicy the fruit is! The deep ruby colour of the blood oranges is complemented nicely with the sprigs of rosemary and violet blossoms. I cannot wait to be lounging at my cottage sipping on this sweet drink!
