Life Updates Part 2

Hello! Just wanted to drop in and talk a little bit about what has been going on in my business and life as of late.

I've been in business for a little over 6 months now, and if I am not working on client work I am marketing my butt off! Maybe you are new in business too, or a veteran, either way I am sure you can relate. My focus right now is meeting other business owners, either in person or virtually. I love getting to know fellow business owners and discussing our struggles, accomplishments and next steps. These relationships have blossomed into great opportunities as well.

I will be working with Laine Napoli on a branding refresh for Charuk Studios and a new logo, YAY! I also can't wait to photograph custom work for her business, Branding Addicts, in the coming months. I had the pleasure of photographing Erin, the owner of Piper Social Media Management for a feature in Belong Magazine's November issue. I also just finished writing a guest post for Copper Kettle Co. discussing the benefits of brand photography. Stay tuned because I will be sharing all of these features and projects on the blog!

Something I am also excited to announce is that I will be a co-author for a book about female entrepreneurs overcoming self limitations. When I was approached by Ky-Lee, the owner of GBR Publications, I was very surprised she wanted me to contribute a chapter to the book she was compiling. I had doubts since I was new to running a business that I would have much to say, but I now see that the perspective of various entrepreneurs at different stages is valuable to readers. I foresee that I will have many evenings curled up on my couch writing away trying to make sense of my thoughts. Hopefully with a glass of wine in hand ;)

As for photography, I recently updated my portfolio to include my work for Linen Chest, and earlier this month I styled and photographed a few fall themed lifestyle shoots for their blog, LC Living. I also photographed one of my favourite projects to date for Frenie, the owner of Bayard Gateaux. I travelled to Montreal to photograph her cakes for her brand and I cannot wait to share the photos! Seriously, the colours and textures are stunning, and the cakes of course look amazing!

Lastly I have a few travel plans for the month of October. I'm currently in San Francisco visiting a friend from high school as I write this. I haven't travelled out of the country in a couple years and I wanted to make it a point to travel at least once this year! I'm happy I could make that a reality and take some time to relax while also exploring a new city. I am also fortunate to be attending Maddy K's women's retreat at the end of the month in St. Sauveur, Quebec. I am looking forward to listening to the advice of successful female entrepreneurs and meeting many other business owners attending the retreat as well. The weekend is also filled with amazing food and wine, a massage, yoga classes and a one on one mentor session. I'm sure it will be an enlightening and revitalizing experience!

I'm also happy to announce I currently have 3 spots left for brand photography and film projects for 2016. I can't wait to create beautiful work for clients in the coming months, so if you have been considering it for a while send me an email to book your spot.

I can't wait to see how the next month unfolds and to share more photos of my San Francisco trip! Check back soon :)
